22 King Street

That's right folks, because I was highly bored this afternoon, I looked at our blog and was inspired by Simon's comics to write the goings on of 22 King Street, focused mainly on the adventures of Matt. Enjoy,

Hoffmann IT Services

So at about 1am tonight, Lynchy informed me that our dear friend Oliver Hoffmann was in need of a logo/business card design for his fledgling IT company, "Hoffmann IT Services". I leapt at the opportunity to display my prowess in this field and after roughly 2 and a half hours was rewarded with the following artistic masterpiece. Feast your eyes upon my creation, feedback is of course welcome and even encouraged!

My friends, I give you, Hoffman IT Services! (Click for EVEN MOAR HIGH RES VERSION OF AWESOME!)

114 Hanbury Street #9

LynchLife pt.1

9:31am: For weeks now I have been finding it hard to muster motivation to do anything. I have neglected so many things that I would normally or should normally do. My activities have slowed to basically watching TV and surfing the internet.

All this now happens in a far more nocturnal setting rather than everyone else's "9-5". I stay up till 4-5am just pissing around online or watching movies, then I manage to sleep until 3pm in the afternoon.

Everyday I have tried to find something productive to do, but without more money there seems to be a limit to my achievements. I have tidied my room a bit, and moved a few things, but nothing really noteworthy yet.

Last night I managed to find a little motivation to help Hof with his new company logo. I spent a few hours surfing the net, finding inspiration from free logo sources and having a play with Adobe Illustrator, Fireworks & Photoshop.

At about 4am I called it a night and snuggled up into bed by myself.

Finding the willpower to actually get out of bed at even 9am is so difficult when I know that I could easily just stay in bed for sooooo many more hours...I think perhaps my bed is too comfortable, its like a fortress of cushion, and I hate being disturbed.

Eventually I have to go back to TAFE and I really wish it was easier to get up in the morning...

and for the record: The Beatles and Apple Passionfruit Just Juice FTW

Anderband of the week

Im bored... So imma post a blog..

Fav band of the week is a small UK band who broke up last year. They are like melodic hardcory punk.. pretty rad imo.. Have a listen to the song called Gallipoli.

They are called Honour Among Thieves

and their myspace - http://www.myspace.com/honouramongthieveshc

Bought 3 CDs in the last few days.

Preordered the In Trenches debut cd.
www.myspace.com/intrencheshc

Ordered the Azriel first full length.
www.myspace.com/azriel

and Ordered the Dead Swans full length..
www.myspace.com/thedeadswans

very keen..

listen to these bands also.. They have that sorta british sound (architects sorta thing) but put their own spin on it... If you can track down the Azriel Split with Eternal Lord.. 2 good songs of theirs on that...

Also while your there check out these bands..

Architects - www.myspace.com/architectsuk
They are a cool sorta techy band from the UK. This band is where bring me the horizon stole their "new" sound from.

Break even -
www.myspace.com/breakevenhc
Saw this band last night.. Really cool band.. Melodic hardcore punk. the Song November 18th is the best song off the album i personally think. Its about their guitarist who recently commited suicide.

For The Fallen Dreams -
www.myspace.com/forthefallendreams
Pretty cool Hardcorey metal band from the US... Nothing heaps new but have a pretty rad solid overall sound..

The Strugglers - http://www.myspace.com/strugglespunk
Rad as punk band from Newcastle. Singer from pasadia on guitar, and guitarest from Sindell on other guitar... heaps cool band.. Check out their song Man Made.

We don't go to Ravenholm...

Is the title of the brand new Spandex Moose track! That's right fans, a fresh taste of the Moose's organic produce has just been completed! Demo's will be live only, so you have to come to our gigs or you won't hear it, so there's some incentive. Happi MC has declared this latest late night effort as his favourite Spandex track, so it must be good.

Be sure to peep it at the show, ya'll. Peace out!

Working on a movie set

So, as you may or may not know, for the last week I have been working on a movie set with this guy I know who is trying to become a director.

The whole process lasted from Saturday morning until Thursday night, with many frustrations and much swearing involved, however it was one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life, and has cemented my wish to pursue a career in film.

So, to start, the people who I worked with were some of the coolest people I have ever met, and they were awesomely nice, giving me heaps of tips and opportunities, and a few even told me to stay in touch so we could work together some more. One guy, Luke, told me to contact him about learning some 3D Animation stuff, as he has a major role in a studio in Sydney, and has mad contacts to get me into the industry. Long story short, I met some awesome people with hookups to get me into films easily.

The second thing that I will tell you about is the days. 5am start. 7pm finish. That's right, 14 hour days were the call, and it was brutal, gruelling, and AWESOME FUN! I didn't ever think that I would enjoy that, but the people there were so awesome and I had a mad time rocking out with all of them. I was mainly involved with the camera department, helping them lug stuff around, setting up a video split for the director, and generally helping anywhere I was needed in their area. It was a pretty damn stressful job as helping to take care of a $300,000 piece of equipment made me kind of nervous. Yes, the camera was $300,000, with an extra $100,000 lens kit.

Finally, I'll talk about the perks of my week. First, the free beanie was awesome. That's right, I got a free beanie with the name of the movie, "The Clearing", printed on it and the year and production company, it's basically rad. Second, the wrap party, which involved 10 cases of beer, about 30 bottles of wine, dozens of bottles of spirits, a popcorn machine, live music and rocking out with awesome movie people. It was SWEET.

So that's all I'm going to write about at the moment, if you want more details, then talk to me somewhere else and I'll give you some. Believe me, when I see all the boys tomorrow, they're going to hear all about it in detail :).

Thanks for reading, this is Luis signing off again.

The picture is of the movie studio's website. If you want to check it out, it's www.chaoticpictures.com.

Keyboarding

So today I wanted to clean my keyboard, properly. I roughly followed this guide to pull it apart, as I haven't done this before.
My problem with the "cleaning guide" is that I don't own a dishwasher...So I just filled the laundry sink with some nice hot soapy water, threw everything in there, cept the electronics of course!

Gave it a good wash, and while the plastic was wet and soapy I
used a very fine wet and dry sandpaper - bout 1000g - to lightly sand off the gloss.
I used Septone Vinyl & Plastic spray paint from Supercheap Auto to do the spraying, it was about $10 on special iirc.
It was a timely process, and took me about half a day, including
breaks and walks to the shop for food.

Nemesia was very kind and helped me put all the keys back on.
By this time my fingers were surprising raw from pulling apart plastic...yes I know I'm a total pussy.
Anyway, after about 50 screws and a few clips it looks pretty rad, and I'm happy with the result.

Anderm0ngs Top 5 CDs of the month

These are my top 5 cds from this month (June)... They didn't necessarily come out this month though.

They are also in no particular Order.

1. Antagonist A.D. - We Are The Dead

2. Alexisonfire - Old Crows/Young Cardinals

3. Oceana - BirthEater

4. Hopeless - Dear World

5. IWrestledABearOnce - Its All Happening

oh and I have to mention the new gavin dance cd - Happiness..

All very good Cds.. Hit that up

Cool Article aka OMGG ALIENZZZ!!

I thought this article was pretty cool so i'm going to post a link: http://news.ninemsn.com.au/technology/829707/saturn-moon-may-have-an-ocean-study/?rss=yes

Basically it's talking about how one of saturn's moons could possible have an ocean underneath the ground. If it does it means it passess the criteria for being able to have life grow on it, i didn't read all the article cos my brain stopped taking it in, but they probably disprove it. Other than that an interesting bit o' news.

Happy Simon!

I really wanna write something of substance...or even a rad victory speech...
but my head hurts at the moment, but I do have a gift for you all...

LYNCHY IS KING!!

The votes are in people. And at the end of 7 days the winner is.. LYNCHY!!

Here's how it all stacked up:
Lynchy: 11 (26%)
Liam: 8 (19%)
Anderman: 7 (16%)
Simon: 6 (14%)
Benno & Luis: 5 (11%)

Personally i'm a bit dissapointed that Liam didn't win as that's who i voted for. But the winner takes the spoils.

I Love Arrie

Entourage...
I think I have to put it on my list of "Top 10 TV Shows"
I am basically in love with the character of Arrie.
He IS the greatest man alive.
They all take shrooms in Episode 505 and it totally makes the whole show.
If you haven't watched the show, do it.

Chicken In A Mouse Wheel

Yea me and seth filmed this a while back, i just thought it was kind cool and decided to share :)

Design work

So, I finally finished all my TAFE work for this semester and I thought I'd give everyone a looksie at some designs that I made. Its pretty basic photoshop stuff, so don't rage me too hard :P. Here it is:

The first few are a design for a web site, name and content chosen for me, I just had to make the look. I made all the logos and the background from scratch in Photoshop, then shimmied it all into one document to finish it off, hope you like (pretty sure you can click on them for bigger views :D):

These are ones I just did for fun, more of the concrete texture because I thought it was pretty cool:

So yea, that's basically all that I'm going to show for now, hope you enjoyed them as much as I enjoyed making them :). Also, I learned none of this at TAFE, all was learned from online tutorials, so if you're interested in learning how, I'd recommend reading some from sites like PSDtuts (just type it into Google, don't know the exact address). Well, this is me signing off yet again :D,

Luis
